Pete Rea is a musician and songwriter from the northeast of England, a part of the world that is very dear to him. His love of music came from living above an old-style coffee bar as a young boy and listening to the 45’s playing on the jukebox below. The eclectic mix of rhythms, melodies and lyrics were the influencers that formed his creativity and ambition to become a musician.

 

His first venture into the world of music came when his band, The Grip, released an e.p. (Cut the Crap Get the Grip) which received great support from John Peel. What greater encouragement could a young musician ask for?

Since then Pete has been involved in writing for film, tv, stage shows and of course music for a multitude of bands.
